Arms of Cēre parish, Latvia. Done by me, soon to be registered.

Between the world wars and initiative to grow silk trees in Cēre was started (with the help of the Latvian state). A large number of trees were planted with a hope to grow silk here one day. These plans obviously were interrupted by the war, but the exotic trees are still there. The leaves with the black berries and a silk moth are the symbols to this interesting story. PS. Once the arms will be registered, will update the post!

Arms of Lestene parish, Latvia. Done by me, soon to be registered.

The interior of Lestene Lutheran Church (1703) has some of the greatest ensemble of baroque era wood-carvings in the country. This cherub is a well known element from the ensemble. There’s also a Brothers' Cemetery in Lestene, with more than 1300 soldiers buried there. The purple tincture (that resembles the colour of Latvian flag) and the clouds commemorate that. The coat of arms will soon be registered - once that will happen, I will update this post with the exact date.
